I needed a place to write a press release prior to arriving in Chicago this weekend (April 29-30-31) for anyone who might have media contacts out here. If you have any media connections there, please send them to this page so that they can read the press release and contact me or Diana Makeig, Executive VP of YTS. If they are unable to reach us for some reason, they can just show up and will be allowed admission on the night I am speaking.

One other thing – there will be an interpreter for the deaf if they want to come to the YTS seminar on Friday night, April 29th. The cost of admission for that evening is only $25. Go and tell!

INTERVIEW BEST-SELLING AUTHOR STEPHEN J. HOPSON

Mr. Hopson will be speaking at Deborah Poneman’s Yes to Success Seminar at the Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Wheeling, IL on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 7 pm. On March 17, 2011 Obstacle Illusions was officially released nationally on Amazon and quickly rose through the ranks debuting at #4 in Happiness, #13 in Self Help and #355 overall (out of 8 million titles).

To contact Stephen for an in-person interview:

Cell Phone: 330-338-4479 (text messages only)

Born profoundly deaf, Stephen J. Hopson didn’t let that stand in the way of fulfilling his dreams. His mother taught him to speak at home and sent him to public school. He attended college and landed his first job on Wall Street at a major New York bank. Ten years later, he left this secure position to further his career as an award-winning stockbroker.

When he was five, Stephen told his parents he would become a pilot and was dismissed as being foolish, but as an adult made aviation history by becoming the world’s first deaf instrument-rated pilot in 2006.

Stephen credits his fifth grade teacher for transforming his young life, which gave him the confidence to do anything he set his mind to. One of the stories in his bestselling book Obstacle Illusions includes the three words uttered by this teacher that forever changed his life as a skinny, bucktoothed kid who wore monstrous hearing aids, and although appeared happy-go-lucky on the outside, had low self-esteem because he was having a very difficult time in school.

Stephen is a risk-taker. A spiritual revelation one day made him realize that his real purpose and passion was to become a global transformational speaker and author. In the late 1990′s, he left his six-figure Wall Street career, learned how to fly and began a new journey as a speaker and author. His stories began making their appearance in bestselling books including Chicken Soup for the College Soul and others. In 2009 he decided to go back to school and graduated from Maharishi University of Management with honors with a Masters in Vedic Science (study of consciousness). Throughout all of this, he continued writing his life story.

Because he wanted to inspire others to overcome their shortcomings, usually imaginary, the way Stephen had experienced his life; he turned his life’s journey into a national bestselling book Obstacle Illusions: Transforming Adversity into Success. Through his writings and keynote speeches, Stephen is inspiring thousands of people worldwide to believe in themselves and achieve the impossible.

Obstacle Illusions contains 25 stories – the highs, the lows and the most embarrassing moments – from his life and the lessons he learned from them. Each chapter ends with exercises that ask readers to reflect on their own lives and see beyond their so-called obstacles. His publisher says this is the greatest self-help book ever. “I absolutely recommend it to anyone needing inspiration to get back in the game and win big time!” Click here to read a sample chapter: Harry the Arrogant Bank Boss.

On the national release day of March 17, 2011 Obstacle Illusions shot through the ranks and became #4 in the Happiness and #13 in the Self-Help categories. On that day, Stephen was featured in the Huffington Post, which was reported to have had one of the highest volume of traffic: http://is.gd/LLUCuq

Stephen has been featured in a cover story for Careers and the Disabled, and interviewed on CNN, Detroit Fox 2 News and Buffalo News 4, to name a few. He has been profiled in numerous newspapers including The New York Times, The Detroit Free Press and has appeared on the national Leeza talk show (Paramount), several cable television programs and countless radio shows including The Mitch Albom Show (author of best-selling “Tuesdays with Morrie”).

TALKING POINTS TO INTERVIEW STEPHEN HOPSON ON OBSTACLE ILLUSIONS

1. How did you come to write this book, Obstacle Illusions, and what do you mean by obstacles being illusions?

2. You were born profoundly deaf – how did you learn to speak so well?

3. Early in the book you talk about how difficult it was being deaf and that you had a hard time dealing with it. Who or what helped you overcome this challenge?

4. In your book you write about an experience that happened after you were transferred into a department at major Wall Street bank that was run by an arrogant boss who ruled with an iron fist. You say he not only didn’t know what to make of you, but also didn’t treat you very well. Yet a year later, he did the unimaginable that sent heavy shock waves throughout the entire division where you worked. What happened?

5. You were an award-winning stockbroker in the early 90’s. Tell us how you got hired and how you managed to succeed in the rough and tumble world of Wall Street.

6. What made you decide to leave your six-figure career as a stockbroker? At that time you had no other job prospects. What where you thinking?

7. It says on the back cover of the book that you became the world’s first deaf instrument-rated pilot in 2006. First of all, how can deaf pilots fly? And what is an instrument rating?

8. Your book also has exercises at the end of each chapter to help readers reflect in incidents in their own lives and help them look at them from another perspective. Can you give us another example of a lesson you learned?

9. What do you hope people will gain from reading your book?

Here are the results of yesterday’s national debut on Amazon for Obstacle Illusions (March 17th):

#355 overall (out of 8 million titles!)
#4 Happiness
#13 Self Help/Success

I’m now in LA for Deborah Poneman’s YES to Success seminar for the weekend where I’ll be speaking and promoting the book. She has arranged for a PR person here in LA to introduce me to the press in town. She even told Randy Jackson of American Idol about me. Harv Ecker too (he’s doing a seminar in the same hotel). This is going to get very interesting!

I promise to keep you up to date as we go along. I love how many of you were watching the rankings like a hawk. We all know when we put our collective attention on something, it grows like crazy! Don’t stop. Like my publisher told me, “It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.”

Please continue to encourage your friends to help me get this into the Top 100. I’m still aiming for the #1 slot but I understand that takes time. Perhaps when nature brings me bigger alliances?

If you know anyone in the media who might like to interview me like Mike Ragogna of the Huffington Post did, please let me know. Mike just told my PR guy that this article generated huge amounts of traffic at Huffington Post. WOOT!

Once again, here’s the landing page where you can order the book, claim your free gifts and watch the book video trailer if you haven’t already seen it:

http://obstacleillusionsbook.com/

If for any reason the landing page above gives you any hassle, go directly to Amazon, order your copies and claim your gifts later:

http://amzn.to/Obstacle_Illusions

After you’re done, all you have to do is give a heartfelt recommendation to everyone on your list to do the exact same thing!

I could NOT have done this without your help. You made it happen!

Consider that we started at #760,000 at 5:30 am CST yesterday morning and ended up at #355 overall at 11:13 pm CST. Several of you told me you purchased not one but two, three, even ten copies!!

You guys ROCK!

What do Deepak Chopra and bestselling authors Marci Shimoff and Janet Bray Attwood all have in common?

They each attended Debra Poneman’s “Yes to Success” seminars numerous times in the 1980′s when they were looking for guidance in their lives. Now after a 23 year “love hiatus” to raise her children, Debra is BACK and better and wiser than ever! Join us this Wednesday evening (January 26, 2011) to be inspired by the wisdom, insight and practical advice from this beautiful, warm soul.

Back in 1982, after studying the greatest “positive thought” leaders in history, Debra began sharing this powerful wisdom and insight through her newly formed company called, “Yes to Success.” Like I mentioned above, Debra’s early work helped guide many of today’s above mentioned top transformational leaders.

Debra was, and continues to be, a pioneer in the self-help movement. Her ideas and concepts were ahead of “The Secret” and “The Law of Attraction” curve then, and although she left the world of professional speaking to pursue a greater passion (becoming a dedicated Mom), she now emerges once again with fresh, life-transforming ideas that are still way ahead of the curve.

Her information on how to effortlessly manifest everything you desire, coupled with her charismatic personality and warm and genuine style makes her my favorite transformational speaker and coach. She is also a dear friend of mine. I have had the privilege of attending (and speaking at) her “Come Back Yes To Success” Seminar in Chicago just recently and have seen all areas of my life positively explode simply by applying her simple success principles.

In fact, I loved it so much that I’m attending her March 2011 seminar in Los Angeles – she was THAT GOOD! I highly recommend you look into attending one of her upcoming seminars too. Perhaps you can join forces with me in LA? I’ve been invited to speak there AGAIN! If you’ve never seen me on the platform, this is the opportunity to see me in action. The LA event is in March and there’s another in Chicago – go here to check them out and register as soon as possible because seats are filling up quickly!

Want proof of what I got out of my investment with YES to Success? Here are a few things I can attest to because they happened to ME:

1. My Isagenix health and wellness business has shot through the roof and I am attracting genuine, authentic, honest, articulate and fun people to my health and wellness team. Because my focus and desire to help is so clear, the universe is bringing me the right kind of people who genuinely want to declutter their bodies (i.e. clean out nasty toxins and reset their bodies to its natural state) and then turn around and help others do the same thing. The kind of people I’m attracting are those who have made a FIRM decision to transform their lives and not waffle anymore. I even attracted someone from Hawaii – go figure!

2. The moment I completed some decluttering techniques that were taught at her Chicago seminar, not only did I feel incredible peace, light and renewed energy but my cell phone suddenly buzzed. It was from a woman who had long been considering the idea of taking her health to the next level and she ended up becoming a new client. And get this – she texted me highly confidential information (i.e. credit card number, CCV number, DOB, SSN, etc) so that I could immediately enroll her in the 30 day cleanse program! Who does that anymore?

3. Earlier this week, out of the blue, a man who I did not know had extensive PR experience contacted me and offered to help me kick start the promotion of my forthcoming book, Obstacle Illusions. Thanks to his efforts, he has already attracted the attention of a major NBC talk show, several radio shows around the country (Oklahoma, Boston and New York) as well as numerous newspapers. And here’s the thing – I have no marketing plan in place! My thought was I would go with the flow and surrender the outcome to Natural Law. Deborah reminded all of us to call upon our invisible supporters and look what happened. Here’s what the PR man said to me:

I’m really getting energized! I can smell a great story when it comes along. All we do is what Maharishi always said: you make friends with the media, we’re just collectors and connectors of information, and our job is to inform and inspire. We’re like switches along Nature’s assembly line, anticipating and directing information. Your story makes it so easy. It’s a very inspiring one. Nature and your desire is what’s driving this, along with the goodness of your intention. I’m just getting high going along for the ride, fulfilling my dharma, helping to fulfill yours.

When you are on purpose, have rock solid clarity (which Debra’s techniques helped me strengthen), you will have unlimited support from Nature – the universe will supply you with what you need to catapult you to the next level. Whoohoo!

Here we are, at the beginning of the new year. If you celebrated Christmas, how was it? If you didn’t, how was your holiday? Since I went home for Thanksgiving (upstate NY), I decided to stay put in this small town of Fairfield, Iowa for Christmas.

Driving around the tiny town on Christmas Day was a surreal experience – it was like being in a ghost town. Not one place (except for gas stations) was open. I drove around thinking, “I feel like I’m in a spooky movie or something!”

Since I was still on the Invincible America course (IA) where I had been meditating on a daily basis for the last 6 months (for world peace), I spent most of Christmas Day in the Men’s Dome (see photo–this was taken just before graduation ceremonies back in June 2010 – hence all those chairs up front). I’m glad to say that while I’ve experienced tremendous inner spiritual growth, my 6 month commitment on the IA course has now come to an end in the new year.

While I was on the course, I was in the Dome from 7:30 am until just after noon to break for lunch/afternoon activities only to have to rush back for another hour and a half at 5:00 pm. To be sure, that tested my ability to manage time in between sessions. It also gave me an opportunity to experience one of the many benefits of advanced meditation which was “doing more with less.” Despite the limited window of time, I managed to edit my book (sign up here for a free newsletter to get updates on the book’s release), go on a few speaking engagements and take on some new and exciting business opportunities. When you go deep within, you are continually in touch with the inner source of all that is from where infinite possibilities truly spring forth!

This was taken back in 2009 when I first learned TM

The other benefit of advanced Transcendental Mediation (TM) is how time simply ceases to exist. One evening while visiting parents for Thanksgiving, I said to my Dad, “Hey Dad, it seems like yesterday evening when I said it was time for dinner!” In other words, the days were going by so blindingly fast that it seemed as if I suddenly found myself looking outside the window only to see the sun was already setting and dinner was ready to be served night after night!

Here’s what’s on my rapidly expanding plate:

I’ve partnered up with three friends whom I met in graduate school to develop affordable Maharishi Sthapatya Veda housing in Fairfield, Iowa. We will be using a system approved by Maharishi called the Master Building System. Take a look at this short video and you’ll see exactly how we will be doing this. Pretty cool huh?

The other thing that is increasingly taking up my time is my new health and wellness coaching business. Not only did I lose 16 pounds in less than 4 weeks (see photos below) but I also trimmed 3 inches off my waist! I went on a 30 day cleanse that was so successful that I’ve turned around to help others do the exact same thing for themselves.

Have you heard of Isagenix?

If not, you will because they are a fast growing company in the health and wellness industry that’s knocking competitors dead. They’ve set themselves apart by focusing on the root cause of health problems which is the removal of toxins on a cellular level. It is NOT a diet company because we all know what happens when you go on a diet. People lose weight but not without the body suffering from near starvation only to regain it right back after it is over.

Why do they regain weight?

Because the toxins are still inside the body!

With high quality (no artificial anything) yet affordable products, thousands of people have gone on a cleanse where weight loss was a huge side benefit along with increased energy, clarity of mind and overall lightness. Some of you know I’m a fitness nut (the BEFORE photo below probably tells you otherwise – haha) but I felt increasing strength during my daily runs. I was like, “Wow, 16 pounds lighter really does make a difference!”

Let me ask you something…..

How many days does it take to change a habit?

21.

One thing that's different is my waist is now 33 inches! I lost another inch after this photo was taken. WHOOHOO!

That’s is why I chose to undergo the 30 day Isagenix cleanse to give myself a chance to change some of my eating habits.

And by God, it did. My relationship with food has dramatically changed. I was at a holiday party in December where there was a bunch of goodies on the table, including my all-time favorite: fudge brownies. I stared at it and was surprised that I did not feel the craving to have one – not even one little piece! I didn’t feel “denied” either. I couldn’t believe it.

Now, don’t get me wrong – it’s not like I’m NEVER ever going to enjoy a brownie or pizza again. Good God NO!

But the difference is I’m a much more conscious eater than I was before I went on the cleanse. I’ll eat in moderation. My food choices have gotten better, which is made easier because I no longer have this carb craving that I used to have. It just happened naturally.

On its own.

I didn’t say to myself “Oh, my goal is to reduce carbs or cut out this or that.”

You remember I was on the ‘raw food diet’ a few years ago, right? I was smoking cigars at the time and one day I said to myself, “Hey, smoking cigars and eating raw foods??!?? This doesn’t feel right!”

Then without even realizing it, I simply stopped buying them. And believe me, I LOVED smoking cigars! It was fun and tasty. I got such a kick out of having a cigar with a glass of wine on my balcony at the end of the day when I was living in Ohio (and Michigan). But without even realizing it, the desire for cigars simply vanished.

That’s what will happen to you on the cleanse. You’ll be totally transformed not only physically but also mentally. With a change in relationship to food, you’ll also experience a change in relationship in every other area of your life. Without having to lift a finger. You’ll be amazed.

Back to the raw food regiment for a second. While it lasted 9 months and I enjoyed every minute of it, that lifestyle became too difficult to maintain as there was a lot of preparation involved (cleaning, chopping, blending, juicing, etc). It ended when I decided to go back to school to get a graduate degree. It became impossible to continue with it because I didn’t have any counter space in my tiny dorm room. I also very well knew I wouldn’t be able to flick to life the noisy Vita-Mix in

The Isagenix shakes are unlike any of the ones I've tried - they are so incredibly delicious, smooth and not too sweet. The one you see here is the Vanilla flavor - AHHHHHH!

the early morning hours to make my favorite green smoothies while everyone was still sleeping!

But Isagenix – it’s super easy to maintain and you’re still getting all the nutrients in your body that even rivals the raw food regiment!

Here’s another question.

How many meals are there in a month?

90.

On my 30 day cleanse, 68 of those meals were replaced – all I needed to do was to reallocate my grocery budget toward the cleanse which effectively meant I did not have to spend another dime for the month. In fact, I ended up SAVING money and still lost weight! Now that I’m out of school, I’m no longer on their meal plan which means non-students have to pay much more money if they wanted to eat in the dining hall.

Guess how much?

$150 for only 20 meals.

Do the math. That translates to just under $8 a meal to eat at the university’s dining hall.

On the other hand, the 30 day cleanse cost me an average of $3 per meal and I was still getting all of the nutrients my body needed PLUS I was losing weight!

A no brainer if you ask me.

Ok let me ask you this – do you have any health and wellness goals? Does any of the following appeal to you:

Have fun exercising

Reduce Stress

Sleep Better

Build Lean Muscle

Break a Bad Habit

Improve a Relationship

Have More Energy

Well, then now you know why I’m so excited about sharing my own weight loss story like this before. I’ve experienced each and every one of the above thanks to Isagenix.

I first heard about Isagenix from a friend on Facebook. Then he send me a very inspiring video of a young girl with Down’s Syndrome who went on an Isagenix 30 day cleanse and my God, I was blown away. Check it out – a word of warning – you might need a tissue or two.

I love this company so much that I’ve been telling virtually everyone who is interested in health and wellness to at least give it a try with no risk (100 percent money back guarantee). In fact, I’m so happy with what it’s done for me that I am eagerly awaiting shipment of my “Athletes” maintenance package to keep up my new lifestyle.

What’s more, I practically can’t keep up with the demand for me to coach people on this – for FREE! Yes, I’ll coach you for FREE FREE FREE if you decide you want to take your health and wellness to the next level. All you have to do is order the 30 day cleanse and challenge yourself to kick-start your new year with a kick ass attitude!

The moment you make a FIRM DECISION that you deserve to look and feel your best and keep it that way is the time to let me personally coach you.

Happy New Year!

I miss writing regular posts and I know I need to get back into the rhythm of writing and inspiring all of you again. In a nutshell, I moved to Iowa from Ohio in 2009 to attend graduate school for a degree in Vedic Science at Maharishi University of Management. After graduation I decided to stay in town to meditate for world peace at the Men’s Dome.

Boy, did that change my life! I’m now approaching the end of my 6-month commitment and plan to turn my focus on other things on my rapidly expanding plate in the new year

First, are you all aware that I have a new book coming out in January 2011? It’s called Obstacle Illusions: Transforming Adversity Into Success containing 25 bite-sized stories of the highs, lows and most embarrassing moments of my life with lessons at the end of each chapter followed by interactive exercises to make your reading experience more meaningful as they pertain to your own life experiences. If you haven’t already done so, sign up for the free newsletter by going to my website and giving me your email address in the green box. I have a new issue coming out VERY SOON!

Do you all remember about two or three years ago I embarked on a 30 day raw food diet? I took before-and-after pictures and described what it was like to completely change my way of eating and how I ended up losing weight and looking/feeling great? That lasted 8 or 9 months and ended when I decided to go back to school.

While a raw food lifestyle was (and is) absolutely fabulous, I couldn’t maintain the lifestyle because I moved into a really small room on campus (i.e. no room to put my blender or counter space to prepare/clean meals) and went on their meal plan for the academic year. There was just no way I could turn on the noisy Vitamix blender early in the morning to make my favorite green smoothies or prepare the meals on a tiny desk in a room without a refrigerator. Prior to moving on campus, I was spending $400 to $500 a month on groceries that consisted mostly of fruits and vegetables. The time and effort spent in washing and preparing the meals was tremendous and unfortunately it became unsustainable for me.

Fast forward a year and a half when out of the blue a friend introduced me to what I didn’t know at the time would be a life changing program that would forever change how I would take off weight and keep it off.

Have you ever heard of Isagenix?

This friend told me about this highly successful health and wellness company that specializes in creating top quality yet affordable products that help the entire body cleanse itself of accumulated toxins where the bonus is effortless weight loss. At first I was skeptical because we know all about those companies that claim to help people lose weight only to gain it right back. You’ve been there right? Me too!

After doing some research I decided that I would give it a try so I started my Isagenix journey on Monday, December 6th. I bought the 30-day cleanse program………and are you sitting down?

I’m on Day 14 (2 weeks) and have already lost a total of 11.5 pounds and trimmed 2.5 inches off my waist!

A skepic? No longer!

It actually works!

The 30 day program consists of 11 days of deep cleansing where the toxins are found to be hiding in fat cells all over the body and are flushed out them out. The remaining days are called “Shake and Meal” days where you drink 68 meal replacing shakes and 1 healthy mid-day meal to further cleanse the body.

Not only am I losing unwanted fat and toxins but I’m also saving money. I’m still on campus (because of the meditation program) and the university charges me an average of $8 per meal. The 30 day program only costs me an average of $3. Can’t beat that!

It’s unbelievably do-able and I can’t wait to see what Day 30 will look like! I took BEFORE pictures and will post them at the beginning of the new year when I end this program.

More information later – email me if you have any questions or want to try it out for the new year if your new year’s resolution is to really lose weight and keep it off. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!!! The company is offering free memberships for those who sign up before Dec 31st (the membership is like what you pay for Sam’s Club or Costco for the privilege of gaining access to buy discounted products). Get in on it while there’s time!

Debra Poneman, co-author of "Chicken Soup for the American Idol Soul" and creator of "Yes to Success!"

Last week I wrote my first post in a long while. I want to thank everyone for welcoming me back to the blogging world after a year and a half hiatus. We’re in for some exciting times – you and me.

Before I write another short post the purpose of which is to catch up with everyone here, I have one announcement to make.

Have you ever noticed that on the top right corner of the blog there was a tab for “Book-Coming Soon”? Haha, well, it was there for so long you probably forgot about it.

It’s time to take a look at it again because after years of putting it on hold, it’s actually “Almost Here!” Toward the end of the 2009-2010 graduate school year, I suddenly felt a strong push from nature to birth it this year. It’s now scheduled for release in October 2010 – that’s only a few short months away!

Thanks to the work of a professional editor (the name of whom you’ll know about soon), the table of contents has been reorganized with better chapter titles. The testimonial section has been updated with names of some pretty famous (and cool) authors praising the book. More importantly, I’ve also created a brand new email newsletter exclusively focused on things surrounding the book.

By signing up you’ll be “in the know” before everyone else. For example, you’ll have a sneak preview of the book cover design currently being worked on by an award-winning book designer (to be revealed in the first newsletter). You’ll also be informed firsthand when there’s updated information concerning testimonials, book signings, speaking engagements and whatever else develops. Oh yes, you’ll also know the exact date of the book’s release and how to get a copy. Plus you’ll be able to tell your friends about it!

So please take a moment to sign up for the newsletter.

You will get a totally unique newsletter exclusively for and about the book. New blog articles will continue to show up in a separate email (or for some of you RSS feed).

Okay, shall we catch up now?

Around January 2009 I was feeling the itch to go back to school but I wanted to find an institution that had some kind of spiritual development in its curriculum. So I typed “spiritual psychology” in the Google search box and a handful of schools showed up.

The first was University of Santa Monica (USM) and the second was Maharishi University of Mgmt (MUM). By that point I was sick of brutally cold winters and looked into USM so that I could enjoy the year round warm weather. They had what seemed like an impressive transformational psychology program so I began the process of applying and eventually got accepted. But there was one caveat. I’d have to make monthly cross-country trips to attend their once-a-month weekend-long classes for at least a year or two. Although this was a very costly proposition, I thought I found a way to make it happen.

The house where I was going to stay over the summer of 2009

An idea was formed between a family member and I that I live at his house (see photo) and do some heavy duty maintenance work and other errands in exchange for free rent for several months. We both figured that would have allowed me to commute to USM and still be close to my family on the East Coast. The negotiations were going so well that I really thought it was going to happen. Every objection or concern was resolved effortlessly. My room in the basement was in prime move-in condition. More importantly the kids were beyond excited about the idea of having me come live with them.

Just as I was about to reserve a U-Haul truck, I received the news that another family member (the spouse) suddenly got cold feet. “There’s no need for us to have live-in help – we can do this ourselves.” Well, without this person’s consent it made absolutely no sense for us to pursue the matter any further so it was dropped. While I was certainly disappointed, I intuitively knew the universe had something else planned for me.

A few days later I began to feel a tugging from within to look into MUM again. The rest, as they say, is history. Did you get how amazing the universe is – how precise and orderly it really is when it comes to guiding us on the right path?

More to be revealed!

One last thing – did you sign up for email newsletter updates for my book?

No?

Okay, I’ll make it really, really easy for you – instead of clicking on the above link, why don’t I just give you the sign up box right here?

Looking at the date of the last post I did, I’m profoundly shocked that it’s been over a year and a half since I last wrote an article here. But a lot has happened and as a way of easing back into the swing of things, I’m going to start slow and add small bits of information from time to time when the inspiration strikes me.

To keep things simple, I’ll bring you up to date on all the things that have happened since June 2009 in bite-sized posts. Bite-sized because I don’t want to overwhelm you with too much and I want to keep things simple for me. When I write articles, I tend to spend enormous amount of time writing and re-writing them before I’m satisfied and post them for the world to see. The smaller the articles, the easier.

But before I do that, I want to reassure you that you’re not imagining things: I am really back!

Did you all miss me? Looks like you did because despite not writing for over a year, not only has the subscriber levels mostly remained stable, but my affiliate income has soared through the roof with thousands of dollars worth of Vita-Mix sales this year. To all those who bought a blender through me, THANK YOU! I have no idea how you found me but I sure hope you are enjoying your new blenders! Please be sure to leave a comment about your blender experiences on the page where I wrote an article entitled Raw Food Journey: Let’s Clear Up Some Myths.

The primary reason I left the world of blogging was because I ended up moving from Ohio to the Midwest (Iowa) to attend Maharishi University of Management for a Masters degree in Vedic Science (study of consciousness). I am still here on campus throughout the summer of 2010 even though I just graduated a few months ago. I’ve learned so much in such a short period of time that I’m still processing all the knowledge long after being handed my diploma! You can be sure I’ll be writing about what I’ve learned here.

I’m happy to say that the school year ended on a wonderful note for not only did I receive a Masters in Vedic Science but I was also honored with “Outstanding Student Award” from the Vedic Science Department as well as the “Development of Consciousness” Award. Now that I’ve put graduate school behind me, my attention has turned to the business of speaking and writing.

So many things happening!

My first-ever book is finally going to be published in the Fall. More on that later.

Changes will be made to this blog. In fact, you may have already noticed that even though the blog URL is still the same, I’ve changed its name to “Overcoming Obstacle Illusions: Taking Your Mind, Body and Spirit to the Next Level.” This is because I feel the new title reflects the tone of everything I’ve written to date. It isn’t just about overcoming adversity but finding ways to take care of ourselves, changing the way we perceive the world, other people and our lives as well as finding and developing healthy lifestyle habits (like eating raw foods). I no longer feel “Adversity University” serves its purpose any longer despite the cute name.

That’s all for now folks!
