Yesterday afternoon I was taking a much needed catnap when my Blackberry vibrated, jolting me awake. I meant to take the holster off my belt and set it aside so that I wouldn’t be disturbed but I was very glad I didn’t because of a special email I received from Maharishi University.
It’s official: I’ve been accepted. Wahoooo!!
I’m sitting here in my office in child-like wonder and awe at what will unfold next. I’m exceedingly grateful and can’t wait to see what God has in store for me.
Here’s what I read after rubbing my eyes and yawning after a well needed catnap:
Dear Stephen,
I have very good news for you!

Life as I know it will never be the same. Not only does this represent the first time since the 80′s that I’m returning to school but it’s also the first time a deaf student has been admitted to Maharishi University! Countless of people have told me that I’m blazing yet another trail. The funny thing is I didn’t plan it that way. I was just drawn to the school and through a series of mysterious events I ended up applying and now a new door has opened. Thank you God!
On other news, I have a new article coming up soon about how setting goals don’t really work – it’s a contrarian viewpoint. It goes against everything we’ve been taught in personal development circles so I think you’ll enjoy it.
Until next time, choose to be happy and walk around with a sense of child-like awe and wonder. You never know what you might discover!

You’re right… setting up goals may not always work because “HE” may have other plans for you. So, the best thing to do is just follow the course of nature. Ofc, you do your best to do what you want to do but if that doesn’t happen, then the second best thing is to accept it and move on, with possible hope that “another door” will open.

Stephen, I am so proud of you. You continue to blaze trails for others with your gusto and joy of life. I am so excited for you. I almost wish I was going with you to do the studies that you will be taking. I love the pursuit of knowledge being the Saggittarian that I am. When does school start?

@ Patricia – Spiritual Journey Of A Lightworker:
Thanks so much Patricia. I’m most grateful and amazing about the way everything has unfolded. Only God knows what’s in store and I’m truly excited about what will unfold in the coming months!
Amazingly, the article I wrote about my experience during Visitor’s Weekend received much attention at the university. I was accepted within a week of the last piece of material that was submitted (a recommendation letter). Normally it takes 2 to 3 weeks to learn of the decision.

Hello Stephen:
Congratulations on your acceptance to Maharishi University of Management! You were drawn to it and it, in turn, was drawn to you.
I agree with you that sometimes setting goals may not always be a good thing, especially if you’re targeting the wrong thing or it’s causing you undue stress.
Letting go and letting God may work better for some people.

@ Al Gammate:
Thank you Al – I agree 1200 percent that I was drawn to Maharishi and it was drawn right back to me. The universe works that way and I’m thrilled about what will be unfolding next.
I’ll be writing about goals in the coming days – I’m looking forward to it! Thanks a bunch for stopping by and taking time out of your busy schedule to leave a comment. I love hearing back from people!

@ Mike Sansone:
Oh yes Mike, you bet! I’ll be moving to Fairfield in August or perhaps at the end of July, depending on when I can move on campus. Where are you located in Iowa? I’d LOVE to finally meet you!
Thanks for the “blazing trails” compliment. I really didn’t have any intention of blazing a trail at a university but when I was led there, I knew the universe had some pretty special plans for me. I’m so friggin excited!
Thanks for your continuing love and support.

@ Carol King:
Hello there Carol! It is indeed great news! I’m sitting here at my desk with the candlelight burning against the overcast morning sky feeling exceedingly grateful for all that has happened this year. It started off rather sluggishly and without any sense of direction then BOOM! this happens.
I continue to be in awe of incredible universal powers that continue to guide and lead me on the right spiritual path. Thanks for your love and support!

Congratulations on your acceptance Stephen! An amazing place for an amazing person. A perfect match! It’s great to know that blazing trails has become so natural to you that you can do it now without even knowing it!
)
I cannot wait for your goal setting article. I’ve been successful at setting and reaching goals however this last year due to job burnout my motto has been “let go” which has opened me up to bigger possibilities than I thought possible as well as more joy and peace. I’m also more relaxed and productive. So now when I set goals, intentions and speak my needs and wants to others I then try to let go (as much as I am able). It seems like the control or the effort I was making to control was taking away a lot of energy and limiting me.
Have a wonderful day!
Angela

CONGRATULATIONS! You are a true inspiration for all of us!!!

@ angela miele:
It’s definitely a perfect match – far better than I could ever have anticipated. I know God led me there because I had other things happen that looked like there were “meant to be” yet I ended up in a different direction!
As for blazing trails, well, my goodness, like I mentioned in a previous comment above, I did not intentionally set out to do that at a university so it’s really amazing how it all unfolded. With my aviation endeavors, I intentionally wanted to be a trailblazer but with my education pursuits, I was just looking for a place to nurture the intellectual and spiritual aspects of my life and look where it led me! I never cease to be in awe of how exact natural laws are.
The goal setting article is definitely on its way soon. Perhaps today or tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Stephen, the universe always has a plan. Every individual is not meant to grasp every detail about the big picture or where he fits in. Rest assured, when your apparent desires are not being satisfied, your energy still vibrates and you have already been heard. Your conditions are only ever making space for experiences that are meant for you. Kindred spirits accompany you every step of the way. Thank you for enriching the lives of yoru reads with pure joy. We love how you expand that inner knowing.

@ Liara Covert:
Thats what’s amazing about the universe – it always has a plan for us – whether we choose to follow it or not is up to us. I love watching things unfold in the most mysterious, awe-inspiring way.
Everyone else who have thrown in their congratulatory notes, thanks so much! I love all of you for being here and celebrating with me. It makes me feel I have one big world family.
