It’s been one very interesting month at Adversity University because for the first time since I started blogging, I’ve begun to add videos with the second one being posted yesterday, in case you missed it.
When you put enough focus on the blessings in your life, it’s not hard to find things to be grateful for. So without further ado:
- A friend forwarded me a link to the subtitled version of the now-famous “Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon University Computer Science Professor, who was diagnosed last year with inoperable pancreatic cancer. I’m particularly grateful because someone at Taudiobooks took the time to subtitle the entire lecture, which I enjoyed very much.
- Thanks to Deb Estep for alerting me of a way to shorten your article’s URL page if it’s too long. When I posted my videos to YouTube, I wanted to give viewers a link back to Adversity University for the subtitled versions but the URLs were too long to fit inside YouTube’s “more information” sidebar.
- A very influential blogger from overseas accepted a guest article from me to be posted on his blog sometime next week. It’s about raising awareness of the need to subtitle videos, making them accessible to everyone. I’m hoping this article will ignite a worldwide movement in the blogosphere, bringing all of us just a little closer.
- I’m grateful that the organizers for SOBCon08 will make available interpreters should I decided to attend this year. Thank God I have until March 31st to inform them of my decision because a large chunk of money just went into the cost of producing a new professional speaking demo tape. If you would like to sponsor me, contact me via email for further details.
- For those of you who’ve seen my video posts and have either privately or publicly given me rock-solid support throughout my attempts to bring video posts to Adversity University, THANK YOU!
- I’ve said it once before and I’ll say it again: I’m exceedingly thankful to Overstream for making subtitling videos so easy.
- Out of 70 million blogs tracked by Technorati, Adversity University is ranked around 37,000. My goal is to reach the top 10,000 blogs in 2008.
- From time to time, I get inner nudges to take action on something that could lead me to bigger and better opportunities. I’m thankful they come to me at the right time with the right ideas.
- I’m grateful for the support of my family, friends and fans who steadfastly believe in what I’m trying to do in making a difference.
- Whether or not I win the www.bethenextbestsellingauthor.com video competition, I’m grateful that I gave it my best shot. You can see the original YouTube video here while the subtitled version is here.
- And finally, I’m thankful that I decided to write a weekly gratitude post to remind myself of the blessings that life has to offer.
Food for thought: What are you grateful for this week?
