As I was getting ready to shut down for the day, I decided to check my daily calendar to see if there was anything I had left to do. (Photo: takingcare)
Yep, there was just one more thing - this week’s end-of-the-week gratitude post!
So without further ado, let me share some things I’m grateful for this week.
I came across a couple of powerful quotes while watching the “Amazing Grace” movie last night (a wonderful story about how one man led a crusade in England during the 1800s to abolish slavery - I highly recommend it):
God does his work with gentle drips, not storms. Drip, drip, drip, drip.
If there’s a bad taste in your mouth, you spit it out. You don’t keep swallowing it back.
- One of my favorite bloggers, Christine O’Kelly of Self Made Chick, will be the second esteemed person to be interviewed at Adversity University’s newly created interview series, “Stephen Hopson Interviews.” It contains a couple of newly rephrased questions as well some new ones. My goal is to make this interview program so compelling, so relevant and so very interesting that it will attract hordes of people who absolutely, positively must get themselves an interview with Stephen Hopson or better yet, they won’t be able to contain their patience for the next segment!
- Have you ever sensed dread around your mailbox, afraid that it’d be full of bills, overdue notices or other equally bad news? When I read Time for a Mailbox Love Affair? by Wendy of Creation Thoughts, it brought on a fit of giggling and a knowing smile because I knew exactly what she was referring to. I’ll bet you will too. Perhaps at one time or another, you were expecting past due notices, a letter from a collection agency, a shut-off notice from the local phone company or maybe even a letter from the IRS. Wendy offers a few simple steps to stem the tide and fall in love with your mailbox all over again. You’ll love it! I’m grateful for writers like her who seem to get directly to the heart of the subject matter followed by actionable steps to take. Thanks Wendy for a delightful article!
- One of the reasons why I like living where I live is that there are a number of nature trails within close proximity, making it super easy to stick to my commitment to some type of daily exercise for at least thirty minutes to an hour. If I don’t feel like going to the gym, I can always go for a brisk walk among nature. I did that twice this week and came back each time reinvigorated for which I was very grateful. There’s something about surrounding yourself with the beauty of God’s creation, knowing that it is teeming with life and then coming back home with rosy-looking cheeks! (P.S. It’s winter here for those of you in other parts of the world).
- Last but not least, I am grateful that although they have the option of putting down a 50% deposit with the balance due on the date of the speaking engagement, I continue to attract clients who believe in my integrity to the point where they are happy to pay my fees in FULL long before I appear on stage. What’s more, these clients have no problem prepaying and booking airline and hotel expenses, both of which go a long way towards minimizing out-of-pocket travel expenses for me.
Food for thought: What are you grateful for this week?

Wendy:
I was glad to have mentioned your article. It really tickled me pink because I have been there so I wanted my readers to have an opportunity to read what I would have written. Thanks for coming back for a visit!

Karen:
I’m very excited about it and have already written a promotional piece tonight. I love feeling connected with my interviewees because I know if I feel that way, readers like you will also feel the same.
I am really enjoying the search for interesting people to interview. Since I want to make this “the place” where people MUST get an interview, I want to cultivate a compelling atmosphere to conduct them.
Thanks for your continuing support. I truly, truly appreciate it. I’m so blessed to have buddies like you!
