I’d like to introduce you to someone who has truly made the best of his situation. His name is Nick Vujicic of Melbourne, Australia.
Please take a few moments of your time and watch as he goes about his daily activities. It will truly put things in perspective for you. It certainly did for me!
If you want to learn more about him, check out his website and see for yourself what this young man is aspiring to do. He dreams of not only becoming financially independent, appearing on Oprah but also wants to spread God’s message to people around the globe!
Won’t you join me in wishing Nick the best?
Meanwhile, I came across a terrific article, “What Dogs Can Teach Us About Handling Disability.”
Food for Thought: Life is a matter of perception - it’s what you make of it that determines the outcome of your life. Simple but powerful!

Wow - this is a great video to banish all self-pity and make me count my blessings. Painfully poignant.

Deb:
Wasn’t that a poignant video? That young man is determined as heck to make an impact on the world. Did you see his website? It’s awesome.
It’s about perspective. I look at him and I say, “I’m grateful I can walk, use my hands to brush my teeth, etc.” And while I’m grateful, I’m also tremendously inspired by people like him because he reminds me to keep the faith and stay the course towards my dreams.
On the flip side, people look at me with my deafness and say, “Gosh, I’m grateful I can hear.” When people hear me speak, they are inspired and end up reaffirming to themselves that they are worthy of success, love and everything else we need.
Interesting, isn’t it?

Angela:
I was mesmerized when I first saw this video. Then I thought to myself, if anyone knows the meaning of adversity, it would have to be this person.
I checked your blog out and was surprised and delighted to discover that you are into education. Are you aware of the story about my fifth grade teacher who forever changed my life with three words? I have a story for you here:
http://www.adversityuniversityblog.com/2006/04/23/three-words-remember-who-helped-you-along-the-way/
I also have a YouTube video with me thanking her on a national talk show here:

Perhaps you could share the story and video with your readers, particularly if they are teachers and administrators? They might like it.
Thanks for stopping by Angela!
