I just stumbled upon your website, and I have read post after post. I have been encouraged. This is what I want from life. To be a better me than I have been, previously. Only I can help myself, but your testimonial--especially the story about being at the beach and having your proverbial "AHA" moment--have really struck a chord with me.

I've been on a perpetually uphill climb to the "Road less travelled" or the "Narrow way" since...well...forever. That's no lie. And sometimes, I come into so much insight at one time (from the phenomenon of "ASK and it will be GIVEN"..that this posting deals with and that the Bible discusses) I feel overwhelmed. But when I decide to marry that overwhelming feeling with a determination that comes from my bones and my sustenance...good things happen to me. By Googling "how do I get started on bettering myself" ... random words, words that just kind of plopped forth from my mind to my fingertips to the keyboard of my laptop in Starbuck's in Texas...I journeyed to your life. Our lives crossed paths, and I had to let you know that you're making a difference.

Kudos to you, and if you have the time, it would be nice to hear from you. I want to at some point do the type of work you're doing. I have a lot to offer the world, and people like you are paving the way.

Best Regards,
Heather

Isabella:

Nice to have you stop by here. Asking is not the easiest thing in the world but it pays off great dividends that would not have happened had you not asked.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stephen

thanks for stopping by on my blog the other. i thought i'd visit here, too :)

interesting post, and i'm looking forward to checking out more of peggy's work, too.

i have an ambivalent relationship with asking for help, too. but whatever it is, the times when it does work are so powerful, it's worth overcoming the fear of going for it.

Wow!! Loved your article because you are addressing a near-epidemic in our country - the inability to ask for help.

In fact, I've written a book on the subject I want to share with you. It's called Help Is Not a Four-Letter Word: Why Doing It All Is Doing You In published by McGraw Hill. I started having panic attacks and wanted to learn why.
This book is what I learned about why we don't ask for help, how it affects us and what we do about it!!
I also offer a free weekly tip on asking for help on my website - www.helpisnotafourletterword.com
Thanks again for an excellent article!
Peggy Collins
www.helpisnotafourletterword.com
peggy.speaks@yahoo.com

Nita:

Isn't the puppy cute? I actually found it this morning at someone else's blog so this photo was just added this morning. So it's perfect timing that you read this article just after I inserted it!

As always, it's great hearing from you and I appreciate the time you have taken to comment at many of my articles.

Stephen

Stephen, glad to read of your success! It is tough to ask for help when it's needed, but absolutely necessary.
