Luis:

I absolutely, positively love what you just wrote here! Everything you have on there is exactly what I do when dealing with tough times. I just finished writing a book called "Obstacle Illusions" - did you know that it's coming out in a few months? The title says it all, doesn't it? That obstacles are in fact illusions - all we need to do is take a breath like you suggested and things will fall into place without the "problem" or "obstacle" getting out of hand. If the world would just stop and take a deep breath, imagine what it would be like! Thanks so much for weighing in - it was awesome!

Thanks Stephen for your initiative.

What I do to overcome Adversity is:

1. Use mental maps to visualize the real situation of my life or business affairs.
2. Meditate 5 to 15 minutes every morning in order to ease my stress and troubled mind. Connect to the center of the planet, and then bring down rainbow energy to my body, releasing the excess energy down to the ground.
3. I ask for help to my Angels.
4. I pray every morning while driving to my office.
5. I breath everytime the problems arise, and try no to suffocate on the situation at hand. There will be time to think, prioritize and then act.

Thanks for your initiative,

Stephen, I opt to answer #1. (#2 is covered in my forthcoming book)
10 things I do in the midst of adversity:

1) Cook--This is therapeutic creative form of self-expression for me.
2) Aikido--This is one effective way I exercise mental discipline.
3) Meditate--This empowers me to shift awareness about where I am.
4) Lucid dreaming-- This enables me to move between dimensions and discern solutions.
5) Visit cemeteries--This enables me to continue collecting epitaphs.
6) Yoga-- This eases tension, relaxes muscles and soothes the soul.
7) Interact with energy- I communicate with energy forms around me to open my senses and consciously move to view my conditions differently.
8) Write-This permits me to put to words sensations in ways that assist me to reframe and rethink everything.
9)Explore spiritual places- pilgrimages to geographic places enable me to reconnect to parts of me I had forgotten. I also build resilience, resourcefulness, ingenuity as well as new friends.
10)The unexpected- I am unable to translate this option into words.

Marc:

I don't know why you couldn't find the email link but it's supposed to be seen on the right side of the screen.

Anyhow, thanks so much for participating in this experiment. I really enjoyed reading your tips and liked the "get advice" and "take a break" tips. Both are great ways to step back from the situation at hand.

Stephen

Hi Stephen;

Thanks for this article, it got me thinking, and that's always good. As I couldn't seem to locate your email address/button, I am putting my post info for this experiment here. Though nobody tagged me, I found it to interesting to pass up. You can find my article, and tag list, here: Dealing With Adversity - 7 Tips for Success

I hope you like it, and I hope it's not over yet!

Cheers, Marc

Stephen, sometimes things take me a while (you know, that "I'll do it tomorrow" syndrome), but finally I've written an adversity post. It's over at ProductivityGoal and perhaps I'll even do another at Thoughts & Philosophies, but not tomorrow :)
