What Patrick did to "corner Jack Canfield" took a lot of guts! I've personally never cornered anyone like that. Perhaps that ought to be next on my list of things to do - getting up the courage to ask a famous person for something. Hahaha.

This is an uplifting recollection. You remind people perseverence pays off in ways that are often unexpected. I appreciate the reference to how he cleverly cornered Jack Canfield. I can relate to siutaions where resourcefulness is desirable. In one extreme case, I devised on a project that motivated me to find ways to travel to fifteen countries to corner and interview people of interest. That life experienece taught me: where the will exists, a way can always be found, if not created.

Tom:

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know your history with the amazing Patrick Combs. Congratulations on sticking with your dreams and becoming one of the top college speakers in the nation! That is no easy feat.

I enjoyed your story of how you met Patrick and how he reached out to you. That's him. He's like that if he knows you truly want what you're after. His heart is in the right place and you and I are lucky to know someone like him.

Now that you've introduced yourself to me, who knows, maybe we will one day cross paths? You never know!

Stephen

Stephen, thank you for this post. You perfectly stated my affection for Patrick as well.

I met him when I was a college student and he spoke at my college. After the program I went up to him and said, "I want to do what you do." He said "Great! But I have to let you know that 99.99% of the people who say that to me don't do anything about it."

From there, I emailed him the next day and we started as cyberpals. He then helped me grow my speaking career for the next 4 years to where we are today as, humbly, one of the top speakers on the college market.

So thanks to you for writing this and thanks to Pcombs for being Pcombs.
